YAG laser training for nurses and AHPs

Overview and requirements

Led by Nurse Consultant Yvonne Kana and supported by cataract Consultant Mohamed Elnaggar, this course will provide you with the training and support to become competent in delivering a YAG laser capsulotomy service where you work.

This course will provide 7.5 hours of learning and requires self-directed learning and training within your clinical area – at least 5 hours dedicated to YAG laser training per week.

Delegates should already have advanced practice roles and be fully competent on anterior and posterior examination of the eye.

A supervisor who is already competent in YAG laser should be identified by delegates before enrolling onto the course to ensure you will be supported during your practical follow up training in your local area.
