Making a Purchase
To make a purchase simply select your chosen course(s) and add to the cart. When all your chosen courses have been added, proceed to the checkout. If you have made an online purchase with us previously, please login with the details you used originally. However if not you will need to create an account. Please enter any voucher codes when the applicable box appears at point of checkout.
For those intending to enrol on to an Observership or Medical Elective, there are suitability checks that need to be done in advance. At this point you will be required to contact the PGME centre on the details provided to discuss this. For attendance on all courses, your place will only be confirmed upon receipt of full payment. Where an organisation such as a hospital trust are paying on behalf of an individual(s) using the invoice payment option, bookings must be made at least 30 days so that payment is received before commencement of the course.
Booking for multiple delegates
For medical or nursing courses simply purchase the desired amount of places and once payment has been received you will be given the appropriate amount of licences. You can then log on to the site and allocate these to named individuals who will receive joining instructions via email. These individuals do not need to be registered with Moorfields, however must fulfil any eligibility criteria. If an allocated individual is no longer able to attend it may be acceptable to send an alternative but approval must be sought from the administrative lead for the course. If no substitute is sent, the normal refund policy will apply.

Booking a Medical Elective
Medical Electives are available at City Road (main site) and St George’s Hospital, Tooting. To book a Medical Elective you will need to select a site. Delegates can then purchase an elective and proceed to pick their desired available date (currently scheduled 46 weeks a year until 2018). Booking an Observership
Delegates can book an observership in any service (or combination of services) for up to 8 consecutive weeks; however there is a maximum 2 week stay in Glaucoma and Medical Retina. Before purchasing please contact PGME to provide the required documentation and discuss your requirements. Once approval has been confirmed, select the up to 8 desired weeks with the tick boxes and add to basket. After payment has been received and processed you will receive joining instructions for your selected weeks.
Booking on behalf of someone else
To book on behalf of someone else, please check the box title ‘Are you buying this course on behalf of someone else?’ Once confirmed, you will receive a license for the course free to assign to a nominated person. However they must meet all eligibility criteria.
Moorfields make every effort to ensure the prices on our website are correct however mistakes can sometimes be made. If we discover a pricing mistake on a product you have ordered, we will tell you and give you the option of either reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling your order for a full refund including any usually administration fees usually applied to cancelled orders. If we are unable to contact you or we do not receive a reply from you, we will cancel your order and provide you with a full refund.
Paying for your purchase
Personal bookings payments must be paid in full using a credit/debit card at the time of your booking. For payments by an employer or third party: We would usually expect payment in the same way as personal bookings, however on occasions we acknowledge that payment will be made from specific budgets/projects/Trusts that will require an invoice. Payment is due within 30 days of issue and places on the course are not confirmed until full payment has been received. An administration charge will apply to refund any overpayments.
When taking bookings Moorfields incurs charging for receipt of online payment and the closer to a course start date the more course related costs Moorfields will incur. As such Moorfields will have to retain an amount of the any fees paid regardless of cancellation date. This will vary from course to course and further details can be found below.
All refunds, regardless of cancellation date, can only be given after the course has taken place. Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust aims to do this within 5 working days of course completion.
You cannot continue on a course or enrol on another course if there is an outstanding debt to the Trust.
Cancellation of nursing courses and medical courses, including observerships and electives
Places on our training courses are limited, so we operate a strict cancellation policy regarding refund. Cancellations must be made by email and will not be accepted by any other means. Please note that receipt of notification of cancellation will be confirmed .If you do not receive confirmation of cancellation, please try to contact us again. No refund will be made for non-attendance on the course without prior notice of cancellation. Fees cannot be transferred from course to course.
Date of cancellation prior to the course date - Fee retained by MEH
Over 20 working days before the event - 20% of course fee
Over 15 working days but less than 20 - 70% of course fee
Less than 15 working days - 100% of course fee
Some nursing courses can accept named substitutes within this period at our own discretion where we deem appropriate.
In the event of cancellation of a training event by Moorfields, we will endeavour to inform all participants two weeks before the course is due to take place - but please be aware that this is not always possible. All course fees paid will be reimbursed in full including any admin charge, but we will not be able to reimburse any other costs that may have been incurred, including flights, accommodation etc.
Travel, accommodation and logistics
You are advised NOT to book travel tickets or accommodation until you have received written confirmation of the course venue.
For medical courses, there may also be further opportunities to obtain a discounted hotel rate at a local venue. Please check your joining instructions for further details.
Fees cover all tuition costs, access to scientific sessions and any refreshments provided plus any photocopies supplied by the trainer. However do not cover travelling expenses for any incidental field trips, personal subsistence or travel, or residential accommodation (except where stated in the course leaflets).
Changes by Moorfields
Moorfields reserve the right to cancel a course, change the venue, amend the dates and/or fees and course tutors at any time and without prior notice.in the event of this happening we will try to notify you as soon as possible.
