You will learn about key neuro-anatomy, aiding the understanding of neuro-ophthalmic disease.

You will then explore diagnostic tools will, including:

  • Goldmann visual field testing.
  • OCT.
  • Neuro-imaging relevant to neuro-ophthalmology.
  • Clinically Oriented Overview.

You will learn about the major presentations within the field, including:

  • Unilateral and bilateral optic nerve swelling.
  • Optic nerve pallor.
  • Visual field defects.
  • Pupil abnormalities.

  • Take a targeted history in the neuro-ophthalmic patient
  • Perform a targeted assessment in the neuro-ophthalmic patient.
  • Perform and interpret a Goldmann visual field.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the applications of OCT within neuro-ophthalmology and be able to apply this to clinical case.
  • Display a clinically-orientated understanding of the imaging modalities that are used in neuro-ophthalmology (e.g. CT, MRI), including the clinical indications for each.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the clinical assessment, investigation and management of key neuro-ophthalmic presentations.
