Endonasal Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) Hands-on Simulation Course

This one-day face-to-face course offers hands-on training in all aspects of endonasal DCR surgery, starting with endoscopic equipment setup. Delegates will observe and then practise each DCR step using individual soft tissue, anatomical accurate, surgical training models.

Pre-course learning material will include clinical anatomy and endonasal DCR surgery overview.

The course aims to equip ophthalmologists with comprehensive knowledge of the procedure, practical experience and hands-on surgical skills in a simulation environment to allow maximisation of learning opportunities in the theatre setting.

Learning outcomes
  • Understand relevant nasal and lacrimal anatomy essential for endonasal DCR
  • Understand indications, contraindications, and steps of the endonasal DCR procedure
  • Learn the setup and safe use of the Storz endoscope
  • Develop hands-on surgical skills using a high-fidelity simulation model

Accreditation

A certificate of attendance will be awarded at the end of the study day and CPD points will be applied for.
