This observership is intended for Clinicians who wish to practice in the field or expand their knowledge, including ophthalmologists, neuro-ophthalmologists, clinical scientists, clinical physiologists and other paramedics working in ophthalmological/neurological electrodiagnostic units.
During your visit, there will be introductory teaching from Clinical Scientists and time will be spent with specialist Clinical Physiologists, to observe patients being tested and to gain an understanding of methods and technical considerations including test protocols that incorporate the International (ISCEV) standards. Time will also be spent with senior and Consultant Clinical Scientists during interactive reporting sessions, to gain an understanding of data interpretation and reporting. There will be opportunity to learn about a range of tests including the full-field electroretinography (ERG), pattern ERG, multifocal ERG, visual evoked potentials (VEPs) and electro-oculography (EOG).
