A two day course composed of a series of lecture webinars on the topic therapeutics and delivered by Senior Optometrist and Consultant Ophthalmologists. Each lecture awards CET points to attendees, including Optometrist and Independent Prescriber points. At the end of each lecture there will be a minimum 15 minutes interactive Q & A session with the leading speaker, where delegates have the opportunity to ask questions to check understanding and reflect on learning. There will also be a peer review session where delegates discuss cases.
It is suitable for community and hospital based optometrists who have the independent prescriber qualification or interested in therapeutics.
A wide range of conditions such as Keratitis, Ocular Allergy, Uveitis and their signs, symptoms and differential diagnosis. This will also include pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment/ intervention by optometrists and guidelines on when to refer. Pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment/ intervention if referred to a tertiary setting.
Learners would expect to have a better understanding of patient care and therapeutic management/treatment of different conditions. As these lectures will be live and interactive, learners are encouraged to ask questions to check understanding.
CET points are available for UK registered optometrists and a certificate of attendance will be awarded. A total of 16 points are available for the whole course.
