Revision Course for Pre-registration Optometrists

Moorfields Eye Hospital will host this intensive course for hospital and community-based pre-registration optometrists preparing for their Stage 2 visit. The course is comprised of didactic lectures, case reviews, practical and patient workshops and peer review discussion. All lectures will be delivered by experienced senior and specialist optometrists. This course is designed to help pre-registration students obtain some of their required clinical competencies.
The course will include:
History & Symptoms ▪ Record Keeping ▪ Dispensing – focimetry and non-tols ▪ Testing children and people with special needs, dementia and low vision ▪ Slit lamp and tonometry ▪ Case studies and patient workshops on common ocular conditions ▪ Colour vision and neuro-ophthalmology ▪ Visual fields ▪ Pharmacology & use of diagnostic drugs ▪ Binocular vision ▪ Contact lenses – soft, RGP and complex fits ▪ Exam tips and techniques.
