Glaucoma Level 2 - Fully Booked
This module prepares eye care practitioners to participate in community or hospital-based schemes involving the diagnosis of ocular hypertension (OHT) and preliminary diagnosis of chronic open angle glaucoma. It helps further develops skills in detecting change in clinical status and decision-making in patients at risk of developing glaucoma.
It is designed to suit busy professionals through blended learning. This module will carried out online and will be supplemented by face to face days. This component involves workshops, case discussions, patient assessments and discussion of clinical "pearls" from experienced practitioners. It is delivered 85% online and 15% face to face.

• Possess a minimum of a BSc(Hons) on Optometry or equivalent
• Be GOC registered optometrists for those who want the College of Optometrists Higher Qualification
• Have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience
• Possess Glaucoma Level 1 qualification.
Clinical placement (£50 per session)
For the College of Optometrists qualification, students will then need to see 150 patients with OHT and COAG either in their place of work or by arranging a placement with a local hospital. The placement can be started once the face to face days of the taught component are complete. It is possible to arrange the clinical placement within the Optometrist-Led Glaucoma Education clinics at Moorfields Eye Hospital, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. It is anticipated that this will take six months to complete. Note: experienced practitioners can APL this aspect of the course. Once this done, students will need to submit a portfolio with case records.
